Katy grew up in London, England; a vibrant city with a vivid art, music and fashion scene. The cities influences seeped their way into her soul and inspired her work to be bold, yet romantic; colourful, whilst still soft and beautiful - much like the streets of London that she holds dear to her heart.
After moving to Winnipeg in her early 20's, she completed a Diploma in Professional Photography and continued to develop her photographic style, embracing new influences of the quiet prairies. Katy has since gone on to work with a range of clients worldwide and she loves sharing her passion as a mentor and speaker in the photography industry.
Her work is often described as having a natural, bright and colourful aesthetic, whilst still being soft and romantic. Katy's goal is for her images to always look and feel like they were lit with beautiful natural light, even when they are not. Without light, a photograph cannot exist, but sometimes the perfect natural lighting isn't available - Katy understands how to manipulate both natural and artificial light to always get beautiful, clean results that will stand the test of time.
As Canada and England both hold a little piece of her heart, Katy now splits her time between Winnipeg and London, traveling for both wedding and portrait commissions.
In addition to being a painter of light, Katy is a musician, an avid traveler, a coffee-lover, Mum to her cat, Luna and dog Joey, and is a huge Harry Potter Nerd (Hufflepuff and proud!).
